UPDATE: Due to weekend weather this event has been moved to the weekend of January 27th. This weekend come out and help Storybridge at United Supermarket 45th and Bell from 12pm - 4pm.

Reading is such an important part of a young child's life. Introducing them to books at a young age is important. Kids are never too young to be read to and they love it. Introducing them to books at a young age really does set them up to be readers growing up.

They learn so much reading. Storybridge here in Amarillo is a great program that wants to make sure every child has books on their shelf to grab and start that journey. They have so many great programs.

Our family really loves the Dolly Parton, Imagination Library that is thanks to Storybridge. My granddaughter gets a new book in the mail every month. She loves it when that delivery comes in and we read it to her right away. Young kids get introduced to some of their favorite books this way. Oh, how my granddaughter loves Llama Llama Red Pajama.

Storybridge does more than that. They have Little Free Libraries all over town that they keep stock with books for your kiddos to enjoy. They also host free book fairs and Kinderbridge. I can't say enough great things about what Storybridge does for Amarillo.

You may have noticed your child's bookshelf getting a little full. Maybe they have grown out of those board books and you need more room. This weekend is a perfect time to pass those gently used books onto other kids in Amarillo.

Storybridge is hosting its Dream and Donate MLK Day Community Book Drive to help keep its shelves full for kids to enjoy.

So you can clean off your kid's bookshelf and make sure that others will get the same magical experience your child had with their favorite book. All you have to do is drop them off sometime Saturday or Sunday out at United Supermarket - 45th and Bell.

Maybe let your child help with that process and then take them to buy a new book to enjoy that weekend. Start that circle of life with your child's books this weekend.
