Amarillo College Police Force Getting New Rifle-Resistant Vests

Police officers for Amarillo College will soon be better protected.

Thanks to a state grant, the AC PD has been awarded almost $9,000 and will use the money to outfit it’s 11 officers with new rifle-resistant vests.

They have been wearing bullet-resistant vests but these new garments will provide enhanced protection, should they ever need it.  And best of all, it doesn’t cost Amarillo College anything for the improved protection.

It is expected the new vests will arrive in the next several weeks.
