Tomorrow morning will mark the 17th anniversary of the attacks that took place that fateful morning on 9/11. Amarillo will be having a remembrance ceremony at the Texas Panhandle War Memorial located at 4101 S. Georgia St. It is slated to begin around 8:30 AM.

According to a press release from the Amarillo Fire Department:

On Tuesday, September 11, 2018, the Amarillo Fire Department will be joining with other local First Responders in remembering and honoring the nearly 3,000 people killed in the terror attacks of 9/11 at the World Trade Center, Shanksville, PA, and the United States Pentagon. This year will mark the 17th Anniversary of these attacks that claimed the lives of 343 FDNY Firefighters, 37 Police Officers of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey Police Department and 23 NYPD Police Officers.   This ceremony will begin at 0845 with an invocation by the AFD Chaplain. The Amarillo Fire Department Pipes & Drums, Amarillo Police Department’s Rifle Team and Honor Guards of the Amarillo Fire Department and Amarillo Police Department will be participating in the event that will feature a short speech by William Ware of Amarillo National Bank.
