Jordan Spieth nabbed the number one spot.

Ryan Palmer made his hometown of Amarillo proud at the DEAN & DELUCA Invitational in Fort Worth last weekend. While Jordan Spieth held the spotlight with his incredible win, Palmer stayed close behind, finishing the tournament with a 13 under par.

Palmer was born and raised in Amarillo. He graduated from Amarillo High School in 1995 and began his professional golf career in 2000 after graduating from Texas A&M. He has won 3 PGA tours and came in 10th place at the 2011 Masters.

Despite a similar last name, he is not related to famous golfer Arnold Palmer. However, Texas Tea aptly named their Arnold Palmer beverage (a combination of tea and lemonade) "Ryan Palmer."

Ryan Palmer also started the Ryan Palmer Foundation, which oversees 6 programs, including the Brighter Smiles Initiative and the West Texas A&M University Endowment.

Palmer will play in the FexEx St. Jude Classic in Memphis, Tennessee, next week. The prize is worth over $1 million.
