And as the studio keeps having hits, they may expand their slate to release three to four films a year.

‘Ghostbusters 3′ Plots 2015 Start, Loses Director Ivan Reitman
With the passing of Harold Ramis, we were hoping that it would also put to rest the possibility of a third 'Ghostbusters' film. But Sony announced that they are going forward with 'Ghostbusters 3,' and now director Ivan Reitman has clarified they plan to start within the next year, though he will no longer be on board as the director.
‘Terminator 5′ Looks to Add ‘Spider-Man’ Star J.K. Simmons
'Terminator 5,' which has the subtitle 'Genesis,' is going to have the sticky problem of trying to reboot the franchise to start a new trilogy, while also interweaving material from the original four films (though likely it will stick closer to the first film, with nods to some of the sequels) on top of bringing back Arnold Schwarzenegger in some capacity. To help provide the duct tape to make thi
‘Captain America 2′ Concept Art Offers a Beautiful Look Behind the Scenes
The concept art for 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier' has made its way online, and it's gorgeous and promises a great clash between Chris Evans' Captain America and the Winter Soldier. Every image looks like the cover of a great comic book, which is fitting.
Who is Going to Direct the ‘He-Man’ Movie?
Sony recently admitted they need franchises as they're plotting to pump out a new 'Spider-Man' movie every year. It seems another possible franchise for the studio is a big screen adaptation of 'Masters of the Universe,' and now that Jon M. Chu is off the project, they've narrowed their list to three filmmakers who could bring us the adventures of Prince Adam and his alter ego He-Man.
‘The Stand’ Big Screen Adaptation Now on its Fourth Director
In a cinematic landscape where franchises and known properties are a studio's biggest priority, some projects cannot be killed no matter how hard it is to get them made. Witness Warner Brothers' big screen adaptation of 'The Stand,' which now has a fourth director in talks to helm the production.
‘Ghostbusters 3′ is Moving Forward After the Death of Harold Ramis
With the passing of Harold Ramis, it seemed another monkey wrench had been thrown into the plans of the long rumored 'Ghostbusters 3,' which co-writer and star Dan Aykroyd has been working on for over twenty years. Now it's been revealed that commerce trumps tragedy as Sony and director Ivan Reitman are definitely moving forward with the project.
‘Tammy’ Trailer: Melissa McCarthy is a Bad Thief
Considering Melissa McCarthy had three films that made over a hundred million dollars last year, is it fair to call her America's sweetheart? She's definitely the most high-profile comedienne working today, and her latest, 'Tammy,' just released its first trailer. And no surprise, it puts McCarthy front and center.
‘Transcendence’ Trailer: Johnny Depp Battles Luddites
Though covering much of the same ground as the first one, the latest 'Transcendence' trailer plays up the role of the terrorists (headed by Kate Mara) who are looking to stop people like Johnny Depp from achieving the singularity. It seems as thought it's meant to show that this science-fiction film is going to have action alongside its heady ideas.
‘Terminator: Genesis’ Pursues Jai Courtney or Boyd Holbrook for Kyle Reese
Though the roles of both John and Sarah Connor have been cast (with Jason Clarke and Emilia Clarke respectively, and of no relation), one of the biggest final puzzle pieces of the cast in the upcoming 'Terminator' reboot, 'Terminator: Genesis,' is who will play Kyle Reese, the man who traveled through time because he fell in love with a picture of Sarah Connor. Currently the role is between Boyd H
‘Noah’ Super Bowl Trailer: Russell Crowe Fights the Flood
'Noah' is the first movie to release its 2014 Super Bowl ad, and now we're starting to get a look at the larger picture of the film. There's the familiar images of Russell Crowe preparing his ark, and looks at his family, but now we can see that fire is raining down from the heavens.
Russell Crowe is Ready for the Flood in the Final ‘Noah’ Poster
One of this spring's biggest question marks is Darren Aronofsky's 'Noah,' which has Russell Crowe playing the titular hero, the biblical figure who saved his family and all the animals with his giant ark. Now the film has a final poster that suggests Noah is ready for action.
