Summertime is not just a break from school, but a great time to get that summer job and save up some cash. Sure, you might not get to sleep in until 11:00AM, but you might just make enough money to put down on that nice car that you've been looking at.

The problem with finding that summer job is that sometimes you just can't come across a job that will hire for just the summer months. Well, here are a few local places that are known for hiring highschool students over the summer.

Best of luck!

Wonderland is a seasonal place to begin with. Opens in Spring and closes in the Fall. They are notorious for hiring teens during the summer. It's also not a bad place to work.

Along the same lines as Wonderland, Splash is always hiring teens to be lifeguards and ticket tearers. They are normally packed each day, so long as the weather allows. Look at it this way, you can work on your tan and make some cash over the summer.

Fast Food Restaurants

While they might not be the most sought after positions, fast food joints are always hiring. Whether it is in Winter or Summer, you can normally get a call back on an application. Here is a list of a few where you might have some luck, McDonalds, Wendys, Taco Bell, Sonic, and Burger King. While it might not be 'Your way right away', at least you'll get your parents off your back and make some extra dough.

The pools are just about open and they always need people as lifeguards. They also have concession stands at each one, so there are a few jobs in there as well. And you can't get in without paying, right? So, you can always work the front and stay out of the heat.

You might not think about this, but some baby sitters make some sweet cash. You normally don't have to work a full day and after mom and dad come home from a night out for dinner and drinks, you can normally walk away with a really nice tip. So, put the kids to bed early, watch their HBO, and rake in the cash.

You might not think this is a great way to make money, but you'd be wrong. Many people, especially if you're using your own equipment, make some great money mowing lawns during the summer months. Think about it. If you charge 30 bucks per lawn and mow just 4 a day, you're looking at $120.00 a day. That is a pretty sweet gig and the best thing about it is that grass grows back pretty quickly. Job security.
