MTV's feeling a little bit smaller today — Chris "Big Black" Boykin, a beloved star of Rob & Big, Fantasy Factory and more of the network's comedy shows, has died. He was 45.

Boykin, a staple of the network who acted as a foil to Rob Dyrdek, suffered a heart attack Tuesday (May 9), according to PeopleHe's survived by his nine-year-old daughter Isis Rae Boykin.

"MTV is deeply saddened to learn the news of Christopher 'Big Black' Boykin's passing," the network said in a statement. "He was a long time and beloved member of the MTV family and will be greatly missed. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends at this time."

Dyrdek and fellow MTV stars Chanel West Coast and Steelo Brim also shared several tributes to Boykin on social media, capturing some of the group's funniest moments together.

"My heart is broken," Dyrdek wrote. "I don't want to write this post. I don't want to believe that this is reality. I am so thankful for you. We truly were brothers that lived an unexpected unforgettable adventure. I just can't fathom that it would end so suddenly. You will forever be in my heart."

"My heart is crushed," Chanel added. "I'll remember all the times you made me laugh and my prayers go out to your family."
