Getting Serious About Amarillo’s New Baseball Stadium

It’s going to be built although we aren’t sure what it will look like.

In 2015, Amarillo voters approved the construction of a multi-purpose baseball stadium.  Earlier this year the city managed to lure minor league baseball team the San Antonio Missions to bring their game to town.  Now it’s time to get serious about the M-PEV.

The city is considering several options for what the stadium will look like and presented them during a meeting of the Amarillo Local Government Corporation last night.   The options will also be presented at the weekly city council meeting.

Construction is set to begin before January with hopes the new team can play in spring of 2019.
