A post about Barack Obama's presidential library coming to the Amarillo area has gone completely viral.

The story claims that the Obama Foundation is planning to announce the replacement of the Panhandle-Plains Historical Museum with the Barack Obama Presidential Center. It includes a quote from a foundation member calling the museum artifacts "pioneer crap" and a prediction that Canyon's economy will get a $20 million boost from "hotels, restaurants and smoke shops."

However, it's just a harmless prank. In fact, if you spell out the first letter of every paragraph, you get "Another April Fools Day Joke."

This part of the country is traditionally conservative, so the idea of a liberal president bringing a monument of his presidency to our area is pretty silly. Plus, Obama has no personal ties to Amarillo, Canyon, or Texas in general.

President Obama is actually planning on building his presidential library in his hometown of Chicago.

Texas is already home to three presidential centers: the Lyndon B. Johnson Presidential Library and Museum in Austin, the George Bush Presidential Library and Museum in College Station on the A&M campus, and the George W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum in Dallas on the SMU campus.
