One of the great gifts to get for Christmas is lottery tickets.  I always find several scratch-offs in my stocking.  That or one of my relatives sticks a couple in a gift.  Heck at work sometimes, co-workers have given me lottery tickets.  Yesterday, we were talking at our office Christmas party about lottery tickets.  What happens if you receive a lottery ticket as a gift and you win big?

That is a great question if you think about it.  Somebody gives you a lottery ticket as a gift, you scratch it off and you hit the jackpot, what do you do?

Do you share your prize winnings with the person who gave you a ticket?

Do you give them what they paid for the ticket?

Do you just give them $1000 or $10,000 depending on the prize?

Do you give them nothing? It was a gift.

What would you do in this situation?

I personally have never been in this situation, because I either lose, or only win less than $5.
