A private memorial service was held for Chris Cornell at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery in Los Angeles today (May 26), and several of the late Soundgarden frontman’s musical peers, along with a number of A-list actors, were in attendance to pay respect to the legendary singer.

According to the Associated Press, Cornell’s Soundgarden bandmates Kim Thayil and Matt Cameron, and his Audioslave bandmate Tom Morello were joined by such musicians as Dave Grohl, Krist Novoselic, Dave Navarro, James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, Perry Farrell, Gavin Rossdale, Courtney Love, Jeff Ament, Billy Idol, Chester Bennington and others. Hollywood actors such as Brad Pitt, Josh Brolin, Christian Bale, James Franco and more were also in attendance.

Rolling Stone reports that eulogies were delivered by Morello, Brolin, Ament, Cameron and Thayil, among others, while Bennington sang the Leonard Cohen classic “Hallelujah!” The ceremony began with Cornell’s solo song “The Promise” and Audioslave’s “Like a Stone” playing through the cemetery’s speakers, while Temple of the Dog’s “All Night Thing” played as mourners exited the service.

Following the private memorial, Cornell’s burial site was opened to the public, as fans gathered around the gravesite where his ashes were buried. Cornell was cremated this past Tuesday.
