Palo Duro Canyon State Park Host Junior Ranger Program
Living in Amarillo we are blessed with the second largest canyon in the country - Palo Duro Canyon. And now your kiddos will get the chance to attend a Junior Ranger Program.
Growing up one of my favorite things to do was visit Palo Duro Canyon. The hiking, camping and just seeing everything nature has to offer. One thing I always dreamed about was becoming a park ranger.
Well, Palo Duro Canyon State Park is letting your kiddos be park rangers! How fun does that sound? Not only will they learn about the park and it's resources, but they will get to participate in a mini service project.
After their day is over, all the junior park rangers will earn a custom sleeve patch!
There is no charge for the program, but you will need to pay regular entrance fees which is $5 for adults and kids 12 and under free.
Everyone is asked to dress appropriately for the weather and to make sure you have good walking shoes. The program starts at 1pm and everyone attending is asked to meet at the El Coronado Lodge visitor center, one half mile into the park from the gate.
For more information you can contact the park at (806) 488-2227.
