Sunday, April 28th will always be a special day in this young Amarillo man's heart.

That evening while surrounded by his family Montrel Meander got a phone call from the Clevland Browns drafting him as a free agent.

If you keep up with the local Friday night lights you have probably heard the name Meander. He was the star player on his high school team and graduated from Palo Dro High school in 2013. After that, he continued his career at the University and Texas and later transferred to Grambling State University.

Montrel Meander said he chose to go to the Clevland Browns because they do not draft many safety's and he can start making an impact on the team immediately.

I can't wait to show them what an Amarillo prodigy can do!

- Montrel Meander

Meander leaves for Clevland this Thursday. We can't wait to see him represent Amarillo this Fall!
