May 16, 2015, marks the fifth anniversary of legendary vocalist Ronnie James Dio‘s passing. To pay tribute to Ronnie and his contributions to the metal scene, we sat down with a bunch of today’s biggest names and invited them to share stories and thoughts about Ronnie James Dio.

In this clip, Full Metal Jackie talks with Slayer shredder Kerry King about the day he finally met Ronnie for the first time. It took over two decades of Slayer's career before Kerry and Ronnie crossed paths personally, and the two bonded quickly over a love of football.

According to Kerry King, he and Ronnie made a bet on Super Bowl XLI, which pitted the Chicago Bears against the Indianapolis Colts. However, King made his prediction before the Super Bowl matchup was even determined. Find out who won the bet by watching the clip above.

Kerry wraps up his memories of Dio with a special one-of-a-kind souvenir that the Slayer guitarist still cherishes to this day.

Watch Kerry King pay tribute to Dio in the video above and look out for more 'Remembering Ronnie James Dio' videos from Loudwire. If you're in the L.A. area, find about the memorial activities taking place in honor of Ronnie James Dio this coming weekend (May 15-17) here.
