It has been over a month since the passing of former Stone Temple Pilots / Velvet Revolver singer Scott Weiland. He left behind his most recent wife, Jamie Watchel, as well as two ex-wives, Janina Castenada and Mary Forsberg. Forsberg is also the mother of his two children, Noah and Lucy, and has filed court documents to become the executor of her late ex-husband's will.

According to People, Forsberg, who married the singer in 2000 and divorced seven years later, filed the documents on Dec. 30 along with a copy of Weiland's 2007 will containing his signature. The iconic frontman's estate is reportedly worth $2 million and holds a trust with undisclosed assets. Weiland married his most recent wife, Jamie Wachtel, in 2013.

Forsberg penned a brutally honest and crushing open letter shortly after the singer's death, talking about the condolences her family has received and how she tried valiantly to help him with the demons he so famously struggled with. In regards to their children, she said "they lost their father years ago," adding, "what they truly lost on December 3rd was hope." In closing, she stated, "Let’s choose to make this the first time we don’t glorify this tragedy with talk of rock and roll and the demons that, by the way, don’t have to come with it. Skip the depressing T-shirt with 1967-2015 on it – use the money to take a kid to a ballgame or out for ice cream."

The singer was found by his manager on his tour bus in Minnesota while on tour with his band, Scott Weiland and the Wildabouts. A toxicology report later revealed the cause of death to be a mixture of alcohol, cocaine and ecstasy.
