The Amarillo Animal Management & Welfare are making a few changes to their hours to make it more convenient for Amarillo residents.

When you think of pigeon, you think of those pesky little birds that sit on high lines or towers and cover your car in poop. That or if you're like me, when someone says pigeons, Goodfeathers from Animaniacs pops into my head. However, that's not the case, pigeons will be taking over Amarillo starting this Thursday.

If you find your pet missing here in Amarillo here's what you can do to see if you can get them back.

When you have a pet, they become a part of your family. No one wants to think about losing their pet and that's why getting them microchip is a great idea. If they get lost, then any vet, shelter, etc can scan them and find you!

Amarillo has an animal overpopulation problem.

We have a wonderful zoo here in Amarillo. It's always fun to take the family to go and see all the zoo animals. Our city is very are lucky to have a zoo. Now our zoo will be getting a facelift.

The Amarillo SPCA is a no kill shelter in town that takes on a lot of animals and does their best to find them forever homes.  The shelter is usually at capacity.  The Amarillo SPCA is a non-profit organization and runs off donations from the community.  Our friends at the Amarillo SPCA are hosting a fundraiser on Friday at On the Border.
