Netflix scooped up a lot of hot property back at the Sundance Film Festival, and after they’ve pulled back the curtain on the award-winning I Don’t Feel at Home in This World Anymore come February 24, their next big unveiling will be The Discovery. The high-concept sci-fi drama will be fully available through the streaming service on March 31, and while the element of mystery has remained a major part of the film’s advertising campaign, a new trailer does offer some more clues on what the deal is. The most important reveal of all: Mary Steenburgen is in this film.
In 1996, Rolling Stone sent journalist and author David Lipsky to travel with David Foster Wallace for the end of his book tour publicizing his great novel Infinite Jest. Lipsky and Wallace spent five days traveling together, and the transcripts of their conversations eventually became the basis of Lipsky’s book Although Of Course You End Up Becoming Yourself: A Road Trip with David Foster Wallace
Did you hear the one about getting married and having a family? When you get married and have children, you no longer get to have sex. This basic knowledge has become such a tired movie cliche and yet entire films continue to be built around it, including 'Sex Tape,' the new film that reunites 'Bad Teacher' director Jake Kasdan with his stars Cameron Diaz and Jason Segel -- a combination that should make for easy entertainment, but instead lends itself to exasperated groans.
It's hard to keep things fresh in your relationship after 10 years of marriage and two kids -- which is why Cameron Diaz straps on a pair of rollerskates (and very little else) in the first clip from 'Sex Tape,' in an effort to try and seduce her husband while the kids are away for the night.
The first 'Sex Tape' trailer (the red-band edition, by the way) shows a film that reunites 'Bad Teacher' stars Cameron Diaz and Jason Segel with director Jake Kasdan for another round of debauchery. This time the couple get themselves in trouble when they try to spice up their love life with some filmed sexual hijinks that they don't know how to delete.
Long in development, Jason Segel and director Jake Kasdan have been trying to get the film 'Sex Tape' going for over a year. When we last reported the duo were looking to reunite with their 'Bad Teacher' star Cameron Diaz, and now -- a year later -- it looks like that's finally going to happen.
