The Amarillo Zoo has a new member in its family.  It's a bouncing baby... Tortoise, and I wouldn't say bouncing, but they welcomed a brand new baby tortoise to their family last month.

Their two adult pancake tortoises created their fourth egg, and the Amarillo Zoo incubated the eggs for three months taking great care of the egg.  After those three months and the loving care it hatched.

The baby tortoise started it's brand new life here in Amarillo.  At the moment you won't be able to meet the baby tortoise because it has to get a bit older.  However, you can still stop by the Amarillo Zoo and see and congratulate mom, dad, and the. siblings.  You can find them just outside the Herpetarium in the Tortoise Encounter.
