The Maverick Boys and Girls Club Amazing Race Needs Teams

The Maverick Boys and Girls Club is having their annual Amazing Race.  This is a fun race that you and a team member can take part in and they have some really great prizes up for grabs.

Here's how the Amazing Race works, it is similar to the reality show.  The competition consists of teams of two taking part in physical and mental challenges throughout downtown Amarillo.  From the start each team will receive a clue that will lead them to a check point and if they successfully complete the challenge they move on to the next checkpoint until the race is over.

The great thing about this race is you don't have to be the best of the best athlete.  You can come and have a great time with a friend, co-worker, spouse, or a relative and have a ton of fun competing.  Yes there is some physical aspects, but there are also some mental challenges as well, so it is quite possible that the fit of the fit in the contest might not win, who knows what will transpire.

The race will take place on Saturday, May 14th and will kick off at the Maverick Boys and Girls Club.  The cost to take part is $35 per person.  Plus for every $100 you can raise before the event you will get 30 seconds knocked of your final time.  So that means that helping raise funds can mean some game winning bonuses.

The top 3 teams will receive an awesome prize:

1st Place: $1000

2nd Place: $750

3rd Place: $500

Check-in for the event starts at 8:30am and the race will start at 9am.

Deadline for registration is May 13th.
