Are we creatures of habit here in Amarillo? Do we get used to certain things and then when they change or there is a hiccup in our plan it messes with us? I tend to think that I am really that way.

Anytime I go shopping I have a certain place I park my car. This really makes it easier for me when I am leaving the store to not have to do a hunt for my car. No, I am not always in the same parking spot. I am not that ridiculous. I am not stalking out what I consider to be my spot and waiting for someone to leave.

No, I have a general area at Market Street, Walmart, Kohl's, and Westgate Mall. Pretty much anywhere I shop I find an aisle and that is my spot. Then when I leave the store after an hour, or however long this trip took me, I know where my car is.

I am definitely a creature of habit. It might be weird. I am ok with that. Another thing I have started in the past few years is using a certain shopping cart. This really only applies to Market Street. It used to be when you walked in to grab a cart they had some that were green and some that were orange.

I would always grab the green shopping cart. I would even pull a few out if I needed to just so I could get to a green one. I know, probably weird. It is just what I did. Even when they changed their shopping carts to the anti-theft carts they still had some that were orange and some that were green.

That all changed a couple of weeks ago. I walked in to get my shopping done. I even anticipated how I was going to get to my greet shopping cart. Would there be one easily there for me to grab? I always think about that as I am walking up to the entrance.

Imagine my surprise when I walked in recently. There were no green shopping carts. There were all new shopping carts. They were still all with the anti-theft wheels. They were shiny and new. What most people would just love.

I had a minor panic attack. Where were all the green shopping carts? Were they sent to other United stores? I know this made a lot of people happy. No squeaky wheels. I get it. I was just going to have to get through this.

I grabbed an orange cart. I wasn't happy. I was going to get through this shopping experience and every single one of them in my future. I was just going to have to learn to be ok with an orange shopping cart.

Amarillo's Georgia Street and All It's Changes

The streets of Amarillo have changed a lot. Georgia Street used to be the place to buy a car. Now it has everything.
