Why Amarillo Starbucks are Closed Today

Last month a video of two black men getting arrested outside of a Starbucks in Pennsylvania has caused a lot of national outrage. In the video, the men appear to be doing nothing illegal. A female witnesses voice in the background confirms "They didn't do anything"

The police were called after a Starbucks employee called the cops and reported them standing there. People have been speculating since the event that the Starbucks employee only called the cops because of the men's race.

In response, Starbucks is having nationwide anti-bias training. The Grand, Soncy, and Georiga location in Amarillo will close today at 2:30 p.m. for the training.

The locations in Target and United Market Street will maintain regular business hours.
