Two Amarillo robbers underestimated the moxie of a 75-year-old woman.

Around 6:30pm on Tuesday, December 26th an elderly woman in the 1300 block on Montclair Drive heard repeated knocking on her door.  She asked through the door if something was wrong.  After being told there was something amiss, she opened the door.

In the doorway a man stood pointing a gun at her.  As she backed up a second suspect entered the home.  They tied her wrists behind her and told her not to move.  While they weren’t paying attention to her, she worked her wrists free and she tried to gain control of the weapon.  Both fell to the floor.  While the first suspect was attempting to retrieve his weapon, the victim retreated to her bedroom to get her gun from the nightstand.

Both suspects then fled the residence.  They managed to steal a television, laptop and unspecified documents from her purse.

The victim was treated at the scene for minor injuries sustained to her forearms, hands, and face.

The armed suspect is a male in his teens or twenties, was wearing a dark colored knit cap and believed to be driving a white four-door car.
