Amarillo's new mayor, Ginger Nelson has announced a new plan for bulky junk items.

Take a look down any alley in Amarillo and you're likely to see discarded furniture and other bulky items.  It has been a growing problem across the city for months.

Mayor Nelson has announced a new plan for discarding bulky items.  Citizens are asked to leave their junk items by their front curb and call the city.  They will pick the items up within 24 hours.  The mayor says the curbside drop allows access by the city's trucks easier and quicker than in the alley.

The change is temporary until the city can come up with a better idea.  But for now, this is the best bad idea they have, by far.
