Burmese pythons are currently infesting the Florida Everglades and it has now become a huge problem. Once owned as pets, not these pythons everywhere.

Just as many people bring home a hamster or a bird as a pet to keep in their house, many people have bought the Burmese Python and kept as a pet. While, these animals are infants and adolescents, they make fun and interesting pets.

But, as these pets get closer to adulthood, a problem arises. How and where to keep them. They become so large that they are actually a danger to other pets, children and their owners.

At this point many people do the quickest and easiest thing. They let the animal loose into the wild. It may seem as a humane and rational way to get rid of a snake that is too big to take care of, but in reality, it causes problems in the local ecosystem.

These animals are not indigenous to the United States and with many people letting them go, they have overrun the Florida Everglades. This in turn leaves many of the animals indigenous to the area on the menu for these massive reptiles.
