Liberal Representative Barney Frank is retiring from Congress this term. He has stated that he will still be an active opposition to conservatives and is happy that "Now I don't have to be nice to people I don't like".

Barney Frank, who is known for being at the center of the housing crash with Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, will not seek re-election. After a close race in 2010, in which the republicans swept the house, Barney Frank is stepping aside to write and do speaking engagements.

Many people see this as the fact that he probably would not get re-elected in the current state of the union. Unemployment and the economy being huge factors that many hold Barney Frank as, at least, partially responsible for. Others have wanted to see Barney Frank prosecuted for backroom deals and conspiracy in the housing crisis which contributed to the current state of the economy.

Barney Frank was never charged or even formally accused of any wrong doing, even though the conservative side of the aisle provided much evidence to the fact.

Frank may be leaving Congress, but don't expect him to disappear. He will still be very vocal and plans to be a voice against the 'Defense Of Marriage Act' and Presidential Candidate Newt Gingrich.
