So Thanksgiving is just a few days away.  Can you believe how fast this year has flown by and here we are facing the big turkey day.   What can I say, it's a day to gorge ourselves silly.  So when it comes to Thanksgiving, how do you and your family celebrate?  Does it include a big giant bird and a huge layout with all the fixings or does it consist of something totally different.

I don't have a very big family and last year we decided to go with a premade Thanksgiving dinner and talk about a major fail.  It wasn't good at all.  So this year, since we really aren't a fan of turkey, we decided not to do the traditional route of turkey, stuffing, etc.  We decided we were going to have a delicious southern favorite and have chicken and dumplings for Thanksgiving.  We'll still have the pumpkin pie, but no turkey, no stuffing, no cranberry sauce.  We'll have a big bowl of love.    That may sound weird to some, but with my schedule, it's not fair for my mom to have to cook that big giant meal by herself.  Simple and easy is the theme for me this year.  So we'll bust out the crockpot on Wednesday night and by lunch on Thursday, we'll have a big bowl of dumplings.  YUM!

So with that said, how do you celebrate Thanksgiving? The big meal or something totally different?
