‘John Wick: Chapter Two’ Super Bowl Ad Goes Several Shades Darker
This Fifty Shades Darker ad is weeeeeeeeeeird.
Oh, this isn’t a Fifty Shades 2 ad. It’s a John Wick: Chapter 2 ad, featuring Keanu Reeves raising hell all over the place. The sequel to the awesome 2014 shoot-’em-up sees Reeves back in action as John Wick, lover of dogs and headshots. It’s not clear from tonight’s Super Bowl ad just what has him so mad, so let’s assume that his favorite pet store jacked up the price of kibble and he was like OH HELL NO, NOT TODAY.
(If this is not the actual plot of John Wick: Chapter 2, I kindly ask the filmmakers make it the plot of the inevitable John Wick: Chapter 3, because it’s an idea with a lot of potential.)
While we wait for the movie to blast its way into multiplexes (and for more news on whether there is a John Wick TV series on its way) here’s the plot synopsis from IMDb:
After returning to the criminal underworld to repay a debt, John Wick discovers that a large bounty has been put on his life.
John Wick: Chapter 2 blasts its way into theaters this Friday, directed by stunt expert Chad Stahelski (who co-directed the first Wick with David Leitch) and written by Derek Kolstad (who created the character and wrote the screenplay for W1ck). The sequel’s cast also includes Ian McShane, Bridget Moynahan, Peter Storemare, John Leguizamo, and Reeves’ old Matrix running buddy Laurence Fishburne.
