There's a chance that not even an extended hospital stay can keep Kanye West from  recording new music. According to Us Weekly, the "Gold Digger" rapper has requested studio equipment for his room in the UCLA Medical Center.

Us Weekly's source reports, "Kanye keeps wanting to work. At the hospital, he requested that recording equipment be brought to the hospital so he can record in his bed." The source goes on to say that the "Jesus Walks" rapper has also repeatedly asked to see sketches of his fashion lines.

The problem with Kanye wanting to record and continue designing new clothes is that his career in the arenas of rap and fashion could very well have been what's pushed him to the edge. This probably isn't lost on his wife Kim Kardashian, who's been watching over him in the hospital for at least the last several days. US Weekly's source says Kim K has been urging 'Ye to just get some rest.

Earlier today (Nov. 30), TMZ reported that it was the recent anniversary of Kanye's mother Donda's death that led to his breakdown. The celebrity news site adds that Kanye's November depression is an annual occurence and that recent events--such as the robbery of Kim K and his recently cancelled Saint Pablo tour--only exacerbated what was already going to be a very hard month.

It probably is best for 'Ye to rest up, but if you consider that he recorded his first major single with his jaw wired shut, you already know that sitting still and doing nothing is almost never a part of Kanye's plan.
