Naked Man With Gun, Calling Out To God, In 15 Hour Standoff With Police

Jimmy Burleson, a North Carolina man, was arrested on Tuesday after a 15 Hour long armed stand off with the police. The strange thing about this incident was that Burleson was naked the entire time.

The standoff began when a neighbor reported Burleson to the police for sitting on his porch nude with a fire arm and calling out to God.

When the responding officer showed up at the residence at around 5:00am, Burleson began shooting at the officer with an automatic weapon, thought to be an AK-47.

"I heard shots," Neighbor Danielle Hatfield told the News & Record. 'Then it went bam, bam, bam. Then I heard about three or four more. I just kind of looked at [my husband], and said 'Are they gunshots?'"

The officer took cover and returned fire with a shotgun. After returning fire, Burleson retreated into his house and barricaded himself inside.

Dozens of police officers swarmed the street infront of the house. They deployed tear gas and a robot with audio and video to talk the man down. Using a second robot, after the first one broke down, the officers were able to coax Burleson out of the house and subdue him.
