According to their Facebook page, Pak-A-Sak founder Dale McKee has died. It's hard to travel anywhere in this part of Texas without seeing that familiar green, yellow, and red logo on the front of their convenience stores. Dale and his wife Joyce opened their very first Pak-A-Sak store in Canyon back in 1978. Since then, the chain has grown to 21 locations across the Texas panhandle. They remain a family owned and operated business with Dale and Joyce's sons, Terry, Gary, and Brian, managing the business. On the Pak-A-Sak website they say that the 3rd generation of family are now involved with running the business as well.

Legacy.com reports that Joyce passed away just about a year ago on July 7th, 2018. At the age of 18, Joyce received a letter from OU college student Dale McKee. He asked the young Joyce if she would attend a football game with him, to which she said yes. A year later Joyce had a question for Dale, and his answer changed their lives forever. The pair were married by Dale's grandfather, on November 23, 1954, in Anadarko, Oklahoma. Dale and Joyce McKee were married for 63 years. There has been no public announcement of services or arrangements for Dale at this point.
