Hey it's always a good time when you can be in the same room with three ex-Dallas Cowboys players. Oh and I am talking about names you will actually recognize. So I mean we got this going for Amarillo.

I have worked for several of our local sports teams over the years. I hung out at the ticket booth and was on the mic in between innings for the Amarillo Sox. I ran all over the Amarillo Civic Center for many years as well for the Amarillo Bulls. I even spent some time doing the same thing for the Amarillo Venom.

Here we are at the start of November which means it's time to think about Christmas shopping. You may think it's too early but I like to spread it out one paycheck at a time. It really does make it a lot easier on the bank account.

When you have kids or even, in my case, grandkids you know they need a lot of stuff. When my daughter was preparing for the birth of her first child she realized how much stuff this tiny baby was going to need.

As we are approaching the weekend we start looking for things to do to enjoy our time. I'm not against having a full calendar. I mean our calendars have been very thin over the past year. So overscheduling is not really a problem these days.

I was scrolling through Facebook the other day and let me tell you that is how I find about a lot of great things happening in Amarillo. I found one the other day that blew my mind. I mean if you are a parent or even on the verge of becoming a parent this is something you need to check out.

Rewind just back to early March when Amarillo received the gut wrenching news. We were losing a beloved sports team.

My thoughts exactly this weekend was how sad this is for Amarillo. The announcement came out on Friday evening that the Amarillo Bulls will be moving to Iowa. That is just a slap in the face for Amarillo sports

It has been a long time coming. It really has but for the first time in 2021 the Amarillo Bulls finally get to have a home game with fans in the stand. This is great news.

Everyone was hoping to have Christmas in February. There is never a bad time for the Christmas cheer. We found out in November that the Lone Star Ballet’s Nutcracker was going to have to reschedule their normal Christmas performance.

With the numbers going up in Amarillo the announcements coming out is really not a surprise. We have to be smart and find a way to get back to normal but safely. There once again has been some pauses or cancellations.

In the beginning of Covid-19 we saw a lot of things shutting down. We saw the schools, restaurants, shopping, travel and to add to all of that the Amarillo Civic Center.Of course all the events were being cancelled or postponed anyway.
