It’s weird — with every new trailer, the upcoming big-screen reboot of beloved ‘90s TV series Baywatch appears to get a little bit better. The first trailer promised a lightly amusing clone of the smart-alecky 21 Jump Street reboot, the second trailer advertised a competently-produced action tentpole with a healthy sprinkling of meta humor, and now, the so-called “official” trailer (does that make the first two unofficial?) teases what appears to be a sincerely funny comedy. At the very least, whoever cut this thing made it abundantly clear that stars Zac Efron and Dwayne “the Rock” Johnson have more chemistry than an eighth-grade science class.
Some people stand in the darkness. Some people make movie versions of campy ’90s television series about lifeguards. It’s gonna be all right. They’re always ready, they won’t let you out of their sight, etc.
This weekend 'Neighbors' crushed it at the box office as it made nearly fifty million dollars and is on track to make a whole lot more. This success has raised Zac Efron's profile, which means he's now talking to Marvel. Could he be our 'Doctor Strange?'
If Zac Efron can take a shot to the jaw with dignity (too soon?), he can certainly handle anything Seth Rogen has to throw at him. The two star in the upcoming comedy 'Neighbors,' the trailer for which features the two in a heated showdown as a family man and a douchey frat guy trying to boot the other off their residential block.
Though 'Star Wars: Episode 7' may have sat out Comic-Con, now that it's a Disney product, it's possible we'll get the first big casting announcement this year at Disney's D23, which is coming in August. But news has broken that Zac Efron and Ryan Gosling are being talked about for the film, and that Gosling is up for the role of Luke Skywalker's son.
Rubbergate has been solved. During an interview with Matt Lauer, Zac Efron sheepishly confessed to dropping a condom as he walked the red carpet for his upcoming kids movie ‘Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax.’
