Take A Stand, Potter County Tops The List For Child Abuse
Child abuse is never something to take lightly. In 2014 33 Texas counties were identified as high risk for child abuse or neglect.
Unfortunately, Potter County topped that list. It is crazy the think that much child abuse happens in our own town. Maybe even to children we know.
Every year the Amarillo Activity Youth Center host the Kare 4 Kids event raise awareness about child abuse and educate people on how to recognize and report abuse of a child properly.
The 4th annual Child Abuse Prevention Event and Rally will be on April 8th from 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at 816 S Van Buren.
Everyone can definitely benefit from this event invite your friends and bring your kids to learn about self-defense, the 4 levels of abuse, or come just to dance! Here is the schedule for this event.
- 10:00-10:30 Opening ceremony
- 10:30-Noon Booths and activities
- Noon-12:30 Ribbon cutting and balloon release
- 10:30 Substance Abuse
- Self Defense 10:30, 11:00, 11:30, 12:00
- Bullying 11:30
- Zumba 12:45
