The Roots are playing basketball. Well, not quite. The Tonight Show house band has been tapped to rock the 66th NBA All-Star Game with a special performance at Smoothie King Center in New Orleans on Feb. 19, 2017.

According to NBA.com, the Illadelph band will perform a medley of songs related to the history of basketball before tip-off between East and West. The Roots are thorough when it comes to these things so look for a rendition of Kurtis Blow’s “Basketball” to be in the mix.

The Roots will be performing as part of the "Entertainment Series Presented by JBL.” The actual NBA All-Star Game will air on will be broadcasted in over 200 countries and territories in more than 40 different languages. There’s no word on who will sing the national anthem but the halftime show will feature piano man John Legend. The All-Star Game coverage begins at 8PM ET on TNT.
