It's hard to believe we are just eight games away from being done with the first regular season of AA baseball in Amarillo. Next, we get ready for playoff baseball.

This week, the Sod Poodles will be awarding area non-profit organizations donations on behalf of the San Diego Padres and the Padres Foundation.

According to a press release, the presentations are scheduled as follows:

Monday, Aug. 26 – Presentation to ADVO Companies

Thursday, Aug. 29 – Presentation to Downtown Women’s Center

Friday, Aug. 30 – Presentation to Buckner International

Saturday, Aug. 31 – Presentation to Amarillo Humane Society, chosen by Sod Poodles “Community Player of the Year” Kyle Lloyd

Sunday, Sept. 1 – Presentation to Panhandle Community Services

After this final home stand, it's on to post season play for the Sod Poodles.

In our very first season with the Soddies, we have seen them win the division championship. We've also witnessed an insane number of sold out games.

Tonight the Sod Poodles begin their series with the Tulsa Drillers. You can find out more and get tickets by checking out the Sod Poodles website.

If you still haven't made it out to a game at Hodgetown, there is still a little bit of time left before we close the book on the Sod Poodles' very first season in Amarillo.
