Regardless of the outcome of his upcoming murder-for-hire trial, As I Lay Dying singer Tim Lambesis may have more trouble on his hands. According to Lambgoat.com, Lambesis' estranged wife is seeking over $2 million in a civil suit that was filed back in August.

In the case, Meggan has reportedly asked for $1 million for emotional distress and $25,000 in medical expenses to date. This is in addition to $75,000 she's seeking for future medical expenses and an additional $1 million in punitive damages. The suit is also seeking attorney's fees.

The As I Lay Dying frontman currently stands accused of allegedly attempting to hire a hitman to kill his wife. However, the hitman in question was an undercover cop called into action when the police were tipped off.

Meggan Lambesis had filed for divorce in September 2012, a month after the couple had separated. She claims in court documents, "He continued to enjoy a comfortable lifestyle and bought a new residence in his parents' name before he was arrested in May 2013 for allegedly hiring a hitman to have me killed." She also stated that she and the couple's three adopted children all "fear for all our lives."

As for the singer, according to court papers he lists that he's been unemployed since May 10, 2013. He also reported that all tours had been canceled and that his record label didn't want to release any albums. Meanwhile, the band still has an outstanding debt that will need to be repaid from any future income. The group was reportedly advanced $200,000 two years ago. The contract ended six months ago with the group paying back $150,000.

Lambesis will return to court Jan. 15 to renew the restraining order against him. On the same day, the criminal case will be heard by another judge in another courtroom. The next date in the singer's divorce case will take place April 16, and the next court date for the civil case against Lambesis is also expected to take place in April.
