This is officially the end of week three of going from "Lean to Mean." I made a promise to myself that by the end of the year I would be ready to get into the ring for my first amateur boxing match. Already, it is proving harder than I ever thought.

This week, everything that could go wrong did. My personal life was absolute chaos, and work didn't help. It seemed every where I turned there was nothing but stress and tension. It was overwhelming.

The biggest obstacle we all face when it comes to sticking with something that challenges us...is us. It's a mental battle. Things happen, and not caring about anything becomes the easiest way out.

Monday was a holiday for most, and it was the only day I had available to get any kind of rest, so no work out or training. Tuesday through Thursday things just got worse. I did a little bit of training and working out at home with weights, but the weight of everything going on around me had me feeling crushed.

Today I pushed through. I woke up and made my mind up that I didn't care. I promised myself I would achieve this. So I went in for training.

After one of the more intense workouts I've been through thus far, I felt great. Our mentality is the biggest obstacle most of the time, and it is so easy to find any excuse to not fight through. Don't give up your fight. Make a choice to push through, no matter what it takes. It all begins with mentality.

Nick's Fight Club wants to know "What's Your Fight?" and they want to help you overcome it. For me it's helping kick cigarettes, helping me stay out of my depression, and getting me in the best shape of my life. I was told today that sparring is around the corner, and I can't wait.

If you're just looking for a great way to push yourself and get in shape, I can't recommend Nick's Fight Club enough. It really has been a life changer for me, and I can't wait to look back on a month of this journey.

You can get information on the group classes (which run on the hour every hour while NFC is open) and the training (I'm doing both) on their website NicksFightClub.com.

If you sign up, come workout with me. I'm usually there around 11 am on days I don't have training.
