You Can Still Get A High School Diploma In Hereford If You’re Over 21

The Hereford Independent School District is offering a special program for students who didn't finish high school.

Getting a GED is the only option for some students. A GED allows a student who didn't graduate from high school receive a high school diploma and apply for college.

However, by the time a student is ready to complete their GED, it's possible that a few years have passed and they are no longer the average high-school age.

Hereford wants to make it easier for those students. They have started an online-only program for students who wish to get their high school diploma over the age of 21.

There are several requirements to be accepted into the program.

First of all, the student must be between the ages of 21 and 25. Second, they must have a minimum of 3 credits left to graduate. Third, they must be a former student of the Hereford Independent School District. Finally, the student must have all state testing completed.

Students enrolled in this program are not allowed on the high school campus.

According to ABC 7, the aim of this program is not to lower the drop-out rate. It is a way for students to get a degree if the weren't able to due to extenuating circumstances in high school.
