One of the things I love about Amarillo is just taking my time and driving around. You can not imagine all the cool things you can discover if you just take the time. You might drive by something that you never noticed before. It probably has been there forever but you are just noticing.

There are a lot of historic buildings. There are a lot of strange side-of-the-road attractions. Just take some time and drive around. Since I have been driving more while delivering DoorDash I have taken a new look at the city.

You get a new appreciation for things you see. Travelling down Amarillo Boulevard I noticed one building and sign that I wanted to find out more about.

I knew it was a restaurant. It looked like it had been closed for a bit. It also looked like it was something back in the day. That sign though.

The restaurant was Ding How, it was built back in 1957. The building is still at its location 2415 E Amarillo Boulevard. The colors have faded since they closed back in 1995. You can still check it out.

You know you had something special when almost thirty years later you can still find items about the restaurant listed on eBay. They have postcards and old matchbook covers.

If you drive by their former location the sign and building are still there. The sign is not the way it used to be. In fact it is pretty blank. I wish they didn't have to do that for whatever reason. It's nice to see it still there. I am sure it would take way too much to open that building back up and restore it but it would be one of those nice things for Amarillo.

Amarillo's Georgia Street and All It's Changes

The streets of Amarillo have changed a lot. Georgia Street used to be the place to buy a car. Now it has everything.
